For Nigeria to have a successful policing system, Nigerians must provide the police with reliable information, according to Force Public Relations Officer Olumuyiwa Adejobi.

Adejobi emphasized the importance of community policing and the participation of every Nigerian in the policing structure in a video that was uploaded on the Nigeria Police Force’s X account on Friday.

He said in part: “The concept of county policing is key, crucial to modern policing strategies.

“We can’t shy away from this, and we cannot do without incorporating every Nigerian into policing structure in this country.

“That is why we say you need to share with us credible information. That’s what we call intelligence.

“If at all we want to have a very effective policing system in Nigeria, we need to actually rely and leverage on intelligence-based policing strategies in this country. We can’t do it without you.

“Every Nigerian, every individual has a role to play.

“And that is why we always say, ‘when you see something, you say something’.”
