The unfortunate death of Francis Ngannou’s 18-month-old son has occurred.

“If the thing we’re trying so hard to avoid is the one that ultimately gets to us the most, what good is life?

“Why is life so cruel and unfair? Why does life always seem to take away what we lack? I’m so damn exhausted. Ngannou posted a piece on X.

Following the shocking news, fans immediately expressed their best wishes for the boxer, who had just faced Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury.

“I am so sorry to hear of your loss Francis, my prayers are with you and your family at this time,” commented Conor McGregor, a fellow UFC star.

Another fan wrote, “Incredibly sorry for your loss – unimaginable 🙏🏼”

Between 2020 until 2023, Ngannou held the title of UFC heavyweight champion. He then departed to focus on his boxing career.

He gave Tyson Fury a serious scare in October of last year when he stopped the British fighter in the fifth round, just losing on points.

Even though it was Ngannou’s first-ever professional boxing match, that was nonetheless the case.

As a result of his training, he became good friends with boxing great Mike Tyson, who prepared him for the Gypsy King match.

Afterwards, in his second professional fight last month, he was defeated by Anthony Joshua.

Ngannou faced terrible poverty in his village of Batie, Cameroon, but he overcame it to become a martial arts superstar.

In order to support his family, he started working in a sand mine at the age of nine with his brother, who was eleven.

He was initially homeless until he met instructor Didier Carmont, who gave him free training and lodging at the boxing facility.

It was here that he was initially exposed to mixed martial arts (MMA), a discipline that would go on to become him one of the most well-known figures in its annals.
