Tinubu names Akande and 559 other people to the governing councils of tertiary institutions
The Federal Government selected 560 people to the boards and governing councils of its tertiary institutions.
The reconstruction of the boards and governing councils of federal universities, polytechnics, and education colleges was approved by President Bola Tinubu.

The license was granted for the efficient management of Nigerian tertiary institutions around the nation, according to a statement released on Friday by Nnamdi Mbaeri, Permanent Secretary, General Services, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
“For the effective management of Nigerian tertiary institutions across the country, His Excellency, President Bola Tinubu, has approved the reconstitution of Governing Councils and Boards of Federal Universities, Polytechnics, and Colleges of Education,” the announcement stated.
The President designated Chief Bisi Akande as the head of the governing council for the University of Ibadan. Prof. Emmanuel Alo, Ifeoma Nwankwo, Nelson Alapa, and Alexander Ajipe make up the board.

The University of Lagos has nominated Chief Wole Olanipekun (SAN) as its chairman. The other members of the council are Bello Kumo, Prof. Idowu Mark, Niyi Akande, and Bola Njoku.
At the National Open University, Goddy Etta, Yomi Balogun, Deborah Apah, and Hingah Biem serve as council members, with Isa Yuguda serving as chair.

The Obafemi Awolowo University governing council is led by Siyan Oyeweso, with members including Edward Sarki, Joseph Abaagu, Wahaab Owokoniran, and Abubakar Kachaalla.
Among others, Adebayo Shittu, Muiz Banire, and Senator Florence Ita Giwa were named chairpersons of the governing boards of Federal Polytechnic in Ugep, Cross River State; Federal University of Transportation in Katsina State; and David Umahi University of Medicine in Ebonyi State.
