Three are detained in Ogun for purchasing stolen transformer cables
Three suspects have been detained by the Ogun So-Safe Corps for allegedly purchasing transformer armored cables worth N9.8 million in the state’s OPIC Estate, Agbara, Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area.
In a statement released by the State Commander, Soji Ganzallo, via Assistant Commander Moruf Yusuf’s office, the suspects, Mansirina Usman (27), Janadu Ahyarn (20), and Husseni Abdullahi (20), were taken into custody on Thursday evening, at approximately 7:00 p.m.

Ganzallo stated that the surveillance team of the corps, acting on a tip that the stolen wires were being sold nearby, made the arrest feasible.
“Before the arrest, information reached the corps that unknown thieves had vandalised and stolen transformer armoured cables worth N9.8m.
“The Area Commander, Assistant Commander Adeosun Adeniyi, and his team were tasked with bringing the perpetrators to justice within 48 hours,” the statement read.

Ganzallo clarified that the suspects admitted to purchasing the pilfered cables from Mustapha and an other individual known only as Minister, who are presently evading capture.
“Usman bought 30kg of cable for N300,000, Ahyarn bought 25kg for N250,000, and Abdullahi bought 20kg for N200,000.
“The suspects had in their possession four off-cut armoured cables, N18,850 in cash, three Android phones, two wristwatches, and two unmarked TVS motorcycles,” it was added.

The Nigeria Police Force, Agbara Divisional Headquarters has received the three suspects and the recovered items for additional investigation and possible prosecution.
Ganzallo reaffirmed the police department’s commitment to battling illegal activity in the state and praised the surveillance squad for their prompt action.
