The commissioner explained that the approval followed a memo from the Ministry of Health that included plans to deploy N1 billion from the State Equity Fund for the free healthcare program.

Mr. Musa said, “The equity fund is intended to provide free primary and secondary healthcare services to the poor and vulnerable population for a period of 12 months.”

According to him, the administration is working toward achieving universal health coverage with this gesture.

He claims that the free healthcare program is anticipated to assist 143,500 impoverished and vulnerable individuals in total, 500 from each of the state’s 287 political wards.
