Super Eagles Shift 14 Spots Upward in the Most Recent FIFA Rankings.
In the February FIFA ranking, the Super Eagles of Nigeria, the runners-up at the Africa Cup of Nations, moved up 14 spots to be ranked 28th in the world.
The club received 1,522 points in the ranking table that was posted on the world football governing body’s website on Thursday, compared to 1,474 points in December 2023.

The increasing trend has propelled the Super Eagles to third place on the continent, after Senegal and Morocco, with 1620 (17th) and 1663 (12th) points, respectively.
Cote d’Ivoire, the recently crowned African champions, enjoyed the fruits of their continental victory at home, moving up 10 spots to 39th place.
After leaving the AFCON 2023 early, Egypt (36th), Cameroon (51st), and Ghana (67th) fell in the rankings, while South Africa, the runner-up in the AFCON, rose eight spots to 58th.

The biggest climbers in the most recent global ranking are the Angolan team, who were knocked out in the last eight (93rd, up 24).
Tajikistan (99th, up 7) debuts in the top 100 for the first time in their inaugural Asian Cup campaign.
With 92.04 points, two-time Asian Cup winners Qatar (37th, up 21) have the highest total after successfully defending their continental title by taking advantage of home comforts.
With their ascent, Qatar has entered unknown territory; two other teams have achieved best-ever rankings.

However, Thailand (101st, up 12) and Jordan (70th, up 17), who were eliminated in the final, both improve. Thailand’s run ended in the last-16.
Senegal (17th, up 3) breaks new ground after losing to eventual winners Cote d’Ivoire in a shootout, which left them devastated.
Equatorial Guinea (79th, up 9), South Africa (58th, up 8), Cabo Verde (65th, up 8), Namibia (107th, up 8), and Mali (47th, up 4) are other noteworthy performers.
