The annual prize sum has also been enhanced from N200,000 to N300,000 for qualified students.

MTN offers three main academic scholarships that you may apply for. They are as follows:

MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (MTN STS): Established in 2010, this flagship program assists 300-level students in Nigerian public tertiary institutions (universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education) studying Science and Technology-related studies. Each year, 300 students who maintain outstanding marks get N200,000.00 scholarships, which are renewable annually until graduation.

MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (MTN SBS): Launched in 2012, the program is for visually impaired students participating in 200 and 300-level programs at Nigerian public universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education. High-achieving visually impaired students will get a ₦ N300,000 scholarship each year till graduation if they meet grade standards.

Top 10 UTME Scholarship: The top 10 UTME scoring candidates, as reported by JAMB, are automatically eligible for the top 10 UTME scholarship. Candidates who meet grade standards are offered scholarships from the 100 level to graduation, with each student receiving an annual payment of N300,000. The Top 10 UTME Scholarship is provided regardless of the successful candidates’ choice course of study or tertiary institution (public or private) in Nigeria.

Level of Study

MTN understands that the academic calendar differs between public tertiary institutions. MTN Scholarship for Blind Students.

Visually impaired students enrolling in higher education institutions must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or better.

Blind students applying for the MTN scholarship at a public polytechnic must have completed the OND program with a minimum CGPA of 2.0 and be accepted into the HND program.
