Satterfield, the US assistant secretary of state, will travel to Nigeria Sunday
Beginning on Sunday, Lee Satterfield, the assistant secretary of state for educational and cultural affairs in the United States, will travel to Nigeria.
In a press release posted on its website on Friday, the US Mission announced that Satterfield’s journey will start on March 17–22, 2024.

By emphasizing interpersonal relationships between Americans and Nigerians, the Assistant Secretary will highlight the Biden-Harris Administration’s commitment to Africa during the visit.
Additionally, Satterfield will expand on Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s recent trip to Nigeria.
The US State Department claims that Blinken’s January visit to Nigeria was a part of his attempt to present a unified front with important African democracies as global turmoil gripped the continent.

Satterfield’s visit to the US Mission website states that she will be stopping in Abuja and Lagos State.
“Assistant Secretary of State for Educational and Cultural Affairs Lee Satterfield will travel to Abuja and Lagos, Nigeria, from March 17–22,” the release stated.

Assistant Secretary Satterfield is scheduled to visit Nigeria in order to further important bilateral agenda items, such as increasing educational accessibility and promoting economic prospects via the creative arts.
