Ramadan: Kano’s emir requests a decrease in food costs
Alhaji Aminu Ado-Bayero, the Emir of Kano, has urged traders to lower the price of food and other items so that the general public can observe Ramadan more easily.
During the lunch of Prof. Sa’idu-Mohammed Gusau’s book “Dauloli a Kasar Hausa,” which translates to “Kingdoms in Hausaland,” on Sunday in Zaria, the royal father made the call.

Ado-Bayero also suggested privileged Nigerians to donate their Ramadan offerings to the underprivileged.
In addition, he prayed that God Almighty would guard people’s lives so they may observe the holy month in good health and accept offerings and prayers.
Among other Hausa kingdoms, the emir thanked the book’s publisher for include information on Kano, Katsina, Zamfara, Kebbi, and Zazzau.

He added, “They provided a clear explanation of each kingdom’s administrative system of governance, as well as its trades, norms, and values.”
Prof. Ahmed Zaria of Kaduna State University, who reviewed the book, stated that there are seven chapters in its 356 pages.
According to Zaria, the book offers a concise account of the Hausa kingdoms’ founding and development, as well as their politics, governance, customs, and ideals.

He continued by saying that everyone studying languages or conducting historical research should own a copy of the book.
The Don laments the fact that some academics gave up on their research after rising to the professorial cadre and urged them to persevere in their efforts.
Prof. Gusau, the publisher, stated that the book was an attempt to harmonize the documented history of the Hausa Kingdoms, noting that most university studies focused on a small number of the kingdoms rather than all of them.

According to Gusau, the book also aims to fortify harmony and togetherness between the Hausa kingdoms and other Nigerian communities.
