Osimhen bags a hat-trick, becomes the 13th all time scorer in Napoli history.
Victor Osimhen, a striker for Napoli, shot up to 13th place in the team’s all-time scorers chart after scoring his first hat-trick of the year in just 16 minutes during the Partenopei’s 6-1 Serie A victory over Sassuolo on Wednesday, according to PUNCH Sports Extra.
He had scored three goals against Sassuolo twice after moving to Italy in 2020. On October 29, 2022, the former Lille striker scored his debut goal against the Neroverdi.

In addition, the 25-year-old assisted Kvicha Kvaratskhelia, who scored twice throughout the match, helping new manager Francesco Calzona earn his first victory in three games.
With the triple, Osimhen’s goal total for Napoli since his return from the Africa Cup of Nations has increased to five in three games and to 13 in all competitions this season.
Uros Racic curled in an inch-perfect low drive from the edge of the box to give Sassuolo an early lead in the 17th minute. However, 12 minutes later, Amir Rrahmani tied the score for Napoli by capping off a well-executed team play involving Di Lorenzo and Andre Frank Zambo Anguissa down the right flank.

Two minutes later, Osimhen handed Napoli a well-earned lead of 2-1 when he scored from seven yards after receiving a pass from Matteo Politano.
The Nigerian scored his second goal of the match by tapping in from close range after goalkeeper Andrea Consigli made a mistake.
He immediately finished his hat-trick after the restart, courtesy of some suicidal Sassuolo defending. In an attempt to play it out from the back, Ruan Tressoldi threw the ball straight to Kvaratskhelia, who rolled across to score for the Nigerian.

With this treble, Osimhen joins the late Diego Maradona (between 1984/85 and 1987/88) and Attila Sallustro (between 1929/30 and 1932/33) as the only players in Napoli history to score at least 10 goals in four straight Serie A seasons.
With 11 goals from 15 games, Osimhen is currently tied for fourth place in the Serie A top scorers standings with Paulo Dybala, having scored 72 goals in 122 appearances for Napoli.
Although they are currently only eight points outside of the top four, the outcome retains the champions in ninth place.
