In the second round, the Cameroonian fighter was defeated via knockout by the former heavyweight world champion.

Though the mixed martial artist had a great boxing debut last year against Tyson Fury, he was unable to overcome his more experienced Nigerian-British opponent.
Joshua had already knocked out the 37-year-old in the opening round, from which Ngannou was unable to regain consciousness.
In the second round, Joshua delivered a strong right hand that caused the referee to stop the bout.

Ngannou posted on his X account, “I feel like I let you down. I apologize to everyone.”
“It was a difficult day at work today, but tomorrow will be better. I appreciate all of your affection,” he continued.
