Laureus World Sports Awards: Lionel Messi, Bellingham, and Haaland in Final Nomination List

Jude Bellingham, Erling Haaland, and Lionel Messi have all received nominations for the 2024 Laureus World Sports Awards.

On April 22, 2024, the 25th Laureus World Sports Awards are scheduled to take place.

In Madrid, Spain, the nominees were announced on Monday.

The award’s current recipient would compete against two other candidates for this year’s plaque.

The two football players must defeat Max Verstappen, Mondo Duplantis, Noah Lyles, and Novak Djokovic as opponents, though.

Josh Kerr, a Scottish middle distance runner, Chinese swimmer Qin Haiyang, gifted tennis player Coco Gauff, and fellow football players Linda Caicedo and Salma Paralluelo, who both made an impression at the FIFA Women’s World Cup, are competitors for Bellingham.

Jude Bellingham, a midfielder with Real Madrid, is a nominee for the Laureus Breakthrough of the Year award.

Manchester City, the team that Haaland plays for and won the Treble the previous season, is up for the Laureus World Team of the Year award.

The European Ryder Cup squad, the Springboks rugby team from South Africa, the Spanish women’s football team, the German men’s basketball team, and the Oracle Red Bull Racing team are among the other teams that have been nominated.
