JUST IN: Kano anti-graft chief, Magaji is suspended by the Code of Conduct tribunal
Muhyi Magaji, the chairman of the Kano State Public Complaint and Anti-Corruption Commission, has been suspended by the Code of Conduct Tribunal due to accusations of misconduct and transgressions of public officer conduct.
Magaji was arraigned in Abuja on Thursday. He faces allegations ranging from suspected conflicts of interest to making fraudulent asset declarations and receiving bribes.

His request for suspension was approved by the CCT, and he was told to resign from his job while the matter was being handled.
The PCACC chairman was allegedly harassed and intimidated by three federal agencies, according to the Kano State Government, which had previously brought the federal government before the state High Court.
This was a follow-up to an invitation to respond to inquiries regarding the state commission’s administration from 2011 to the present that was sent to the PCACC and its representatives by the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, and the Code of Conduct Bureau, respectively.
However, Veronica Kato, the CCB’s spokesman, confirmed Magaji’s suspension by the CCT in a statement on Thursday.
