In two months, Kaduna fire service protects N1 billion worth of property
Between May and June 2024, the Kaduna State Fire Service reported that it had observed 25 fire outbreaks and had prevented property losses of N1 billion throughout the state.
This was revealed by Mr. Paul Aboi, the Director of the Fire Service, in a Tuesday interview in Kaduna with the News Agency of Nigeria.

According to Aboi, the majority of the fire outbreaks occurred in the communities of Zaria, Kafanchan, and Kaduna North.
In his list of reasons for the fires, he mentioned negligence, suspected arson, burning of shrubs, and incorrect use of electrical appliances.
”We saved property worth over N1 billion and the good story is that no casualty was recorded,” he said.

The director disclosed that the service has started the process of certifying and recertifying commercial buildings for fire safety.
“The safety and security of our community are paramount. We aim to fortify the state against fire hazards by ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols and regulations.

He called all business entities in the state to prioritise fire safety, saying “together, we can avert disasters and create a resilient and secure environment for all.
