In Kano, the NSCDC detains an 85-year-old alleged kidnapper
Ibrahim Usman, a suspected kidnapper, was taken into custody by agents of the Nigeria Security Civil Defence Corps, Ungoggo Division, Kano State Command, at the Yar’adua quarters in Rimin Kebe, Ungoggo Local Government Area.
This can be seen in a statement released on Thursday to PUNCH Online by Ibrahim Abdullahi, the command’s public relations officer.

The victim, a three-year-old boy from the neighborhood, was kidnapped by the 85-year-old suspect, Ibrahim Usman, who then tried to hide him at the home of a friend near the Hotoro bye-pass in Kano State.
“Believing there had been foul play, his friend declined to hold the boy in his care and made the decision to notify the Rimin Kebe residents where the suspect resided, who had been keeping an eye out for the missing boy.”
The suspect fled as a result of this development, and members of the corps’ Ungoggo Division later found him. It is noteworthy that for the previous two months, the suspect had gathered the victim’s phone number but had never given him a call, according to the statement.

Abdullahi claims that the case is at an advanced level of inquiry, and upon completion, the suspect will face legal charges.
Amidst the mounting alarm regarding the nation’s escalating abduction crisis, ten states—Kano among them—promised to execute and imprison convicted kidnappers for life. The article “Kidnapping Epidemic: Kano, Nine Others, Full Death Sentence, Life in Prison” can be found here.
The Kano State Police Command announced last week that it has made progress in its operations with the capture of a well-known kidnapper and fugitive murder suspect, Ismail Rabiu, also known as “Risi.” PoliceNet: https://punchng.com/fleeing-kano-kidnap-murder-suspect
