Gov : Teacher kidnapped along with Kaduna pupils died in captivity
In the Chikun Local Area of Kaduna State, a teacher who was kidnapped with the Kuriga pupils perished in captivity.
In an appearance on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics program, the state governor, Senator Uba Sani, said that all of the pupils kidnapped by the terrorists were saved by the military working with local authorities in neighboring Zamfara State.

On March 7, 2024, the state’s Government Secondary and Primary Schools in Kuriga 1, Chikun LGA, were the location of the kidnapped Kuriga pupils, who were held captive for 17 days.
Sani regretted, nevertheless, that the teacher’s health issues during captivity prevented her from living.
“It’s only one person that has not returned, and that is the teacher. That is the fact of the matter, but all of the 137 children are safely back.

“We had the unfortunate incident that the teacher couldn’t make it because he had some complications; he was sick — that was the report we got from the military and the security agencies but the rest of the children, all of them are back with us,” he said
PUNCH Online learnt that the 137 pupils who had been saved had reached the state capital and were being held in an undisclosed medical facility in the state.
