Just In: Flood Traps Numerous Lagos Residents and Cars, Blocking a Major Road
Some residents of Command region in the Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State were trapped in a flood that overran the main bridge on Tuesday. The residents were trapped along with their cars.
The Agege Abattoir area is another community to report on the flood’s impact on that region.

The South-West public relations officer (PRO) for NEMA, Ibrahim Farinloye, affirmed that efforts are being made by relevant authorities to free the stranded victims.
“As the bridge has been overrun by floodwaters, the residents of Command Area are urged to seek alternate routes and avoid Command and the surrounding areas.” According to Ibrahim Farinloye, NEMA, the Fire Service, and the Police are working to get those who are trapped out of the area.”

Before now Lagos residents have suffered from high heat waves for several weeks. They were happy at the first sight of the rain.
However, the floods that buried certain neighborhoods in the metropolis of aquatic splendor did not delight the residents, despite their collective sighs of pleasure at the open heavens.
