Entertainers weep as mourners swarm Sisi Quadri’s father Iwo’s Adeleke home.

For the movie industry, March 1, 2024, was Black Friday when well-known actor Quadri Oyebamiji, often known as Sisi Quadri, died at the age of 44.

The actor reportedly suffered from chronic hiccups while at his birthplace of Iwo, Osun State; the condition was linked to the kidneys.

The dead became ill while working on a movie set, according to Toyin Olaiya, the immediate past governor of the Association of Nigeria Theatre Arts Practitioners in Osun State, who spoke with Punchng correspondents.

The head of the first theater group Sisi Quadri was said to have joined in Iwo, Osun State, Olaiya, claimed he never thought Quadri’s time was running out.

This occurred even as heartbroken mourners flocked to “Ile Ago Ogunde,” the Iwo home of the late actor’s father, Alhaji Jimoh Oyebamiji, also known as Yagofeesu, to shed tears and offer condolences for the thespian’s premature passing.

Ademola Adeleke, the governor of Osun State, expressed shock and devastation over the passing of the late Quadri.

Olawale Rasheed, an agent for Adeleke, signed a statement that said, in part, “Sisi Quadri was a delight to watch in movies. He was a great talent who illuminated homes, and imparted valuable messages. With his demise, the memory of the wonderful moments he created on the scenes, and more, the comical relief he inspired through his works will reverberate for years.”

Just a year and a half had passed since Quadri’s mother passed away on February 22, 2023.

In skits and movies, the actor was well-known for insulting people while speaking quickly.

Actress Abiola Adebayo expressed her sorrow on her Instagram page, writing, “Sisi Quadri, you will be greatly missed.” I hope you find eternal peace. May God give you and your loved ones peace.

Bolaji Amusan, commonly known as Mr. Latin, the president of the Theatre Arts and Movie Practitioners Association of Nigeria, also expressed his condolences for the late actor on Instagram and prayed to God for eternal rest.

Saidi Balogun, another well-known actor, only tweeted, “RIP Sisi Quadri.”

Another well-known actor, Odunlade Adekola, shared a photo of the deceased along with the comment,  “This is so sad. RIP Sisi Quadri.”

Other celebrities, including as Dayo Amusa, Bimbo Ademoye, and KieKie, have expressed their condolences for the actor on social media.

Supporters weren’t left out either, expressing shock and sadness.

“I just watched him in ‘Anikulapo’ now, and he played the role of a ghost.”commented a fan named baro_qaah.

According to Gelebymidestarz, “What killed him? Premature death will not be our portion. This is bad news.”

Actress Wunmi Toriola was sobbing when one of Punchng reporter contacted her, telling her that she was too upset to provide a tribute at this time. “I am still in shock. It is too early to give a tribute. You people (journalists) should wait first before wanting to make money from the news.”
