Eid-el-Fitr: Sokoto announces a public holiday on Friday
The government of Sokoto State has proclaimed Friday, April 12, 2024, a day off from work.
This is stated in a statement provided to Governor Abubakar Bawa on Thursday that was signed by the Chief Press Secretary and given to reporters in the state.

The public holiday, according to the announcement, was created to allow civil servants to continue celebrating Eid-el-Fitr with their family.
“This is to make it possible for state employees to continue celebrating Eid-el-Fitr with their families this year.”
The statement said, “Governor Ahmed Aliyu wishes the entire people of Sokoto State a hitch-free Sallah celebrations.”

In order to allow employees to celebrate Eid-el-Fitr, which marks the conclusion of Ramadan fasting, the Katsina State Government also proclaimed Friday, April 12, 2024, a work-free day in the state, according to PUNCH Online.
This was disclosed in a statement provided the media on Tuesday by the state commissioner for information and culture, Bala Zango, and signed by the governor of the state, Dikko Radda.

According to the governor, the extra day off was implemented so that state employees may completely enjoy the Sallah festivities with their families.
Following the Federal Government’s decision to extend the Eid-el-Fitr public holidays to Thursday, April 11, this occurred.
