Davido is donating N300 million to Nigerian orphanages.

Afrobeats musician David Adeleke, better known by his stage as Davido, has announced intentions to donate N300 million to orphans nationwide via his charity, the David Adeleke Foundation (DAF).

The artist announced that the fund’s disbursement details will be revealed on Wednesday in a post on his X handle.

“I and my foundation pledge the sum of 300 million Naira to orphanages around Nigeria … as my yearly contribution to the Nation ❤️ .. details of disbursement tomorrow,” he tweeted.

He claimed that this is a portion of his yearly contribution to the country.

The artist revealed in a statement that 424 Nigerian orphanages received the money.

“I am proud to announce that my foundation. The David Adeleke Foundation (DAF), has donated the sum of N237,000,000.00 (Two Hundred and Thirty-Seven Million Naira) to orphanages throughout Nigeria.

“The foundation successfully distributed funds to 424 (Four Hundred and Twenty-Four) orphanages, benefiting a total of 13,818 (Thirteen Thousand, Eight Hundred, and Eighteen) children,” he wrote. “The distribution of donation funds was led by the chairperson of the DAF Disbursement Committee, Mrs. Titi Adebayo.”

Remember that the “Unavailable” crooner made the similar gesture in 2023 by giving N237 million to several orphanages around the nation?

Similar to this, Davido challenged his friends and followers on his Instagram page in 2021 to help him celebrate his 29th birthday on November 21 by giving him N1 million apiece. He clarified that he had always been in a position to encourage others and that he expected them to do the same for him.

The pop singer stated that the aim was N100 million after receiving N7 million in the first ten minutes of posting the challenge on his Instagram stories.

A few days later, he revealed that the donation raised N200,000,000 in total.

In order to bring the amount to N250,000,000, he also gave a personal donation of N50,000,000. He stated that all of this money would be donated to orphanages throughout Nigeria.

The “David Adeleke Foundation” was established in 2022 with the goal of continuously helping others and building a suitable foundation for further humanitarian efforts to benefit the good people of Nigeria.

“Through this foundation, we have raised millions of Naira and disbursed much-needed funds to hundreds of orphanages, significantly improving the lives of countless children,” he stated.
