Cost of Living Crisis: Tinubu meets with Dangote, Elumelu, Rabiu and Others
On Sunday, President Bola Tinubu met with representatives of the business sector to talk about the nation’s cost of living challenge and initiatives to solve it.
Aliko Dangote, the richest man in Africa and the owner of Dangote Industries, together with businessmen AbdulSamad Rabiu and Tony Elumelu, are in attendance.

Following the meeting, Mr. Dangote informed reporters that “the economy, food security, and security of the nation” were the topics of discussion at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
An official transcript of the meeting states that Mr. Tinubu informed his guests that his administration was searching for “additional efforts” to assist the impoverished Nigerians during this challenging time.

In order to revitalize the economy, let’s examine what we’re doing well and poorly. The people in this country are the only ones we have to please, as I have stated numerous times. All of us—students, parents, farmers, traders, and so on—will have to draw water from the same well, so we are extremely concerned about it. “We’re looking for additional efforts that might help the downtrodden Nigerians and we will provide that hope and reassurance that economic recovery is on the way,” the statement reads.
We do not claim to know every solution. However, we won’t be held accountable for not attempting. The President remarked, “We pledge to Nigerians that we will work tirelessly to implement our Marshall Plan and create the finest possible economic future for this nation.
Mr. Elumelu said, “Implementing the decisions we arrived at today will help propel our economy,” in his closing remarks to the group.
