Container falls on car in Lagos, killing woman
At the Alapere, Ogudu axis in Lagos on Friday, a fully laden 40-foot Mack articulated truck crashed into a Nissan automobile, killing an unidentified woman inside.
However, with assistance from Lagos State Traffic Management Authority officers at NNPC inward the Estate area, the driver of the car bearing the license plate ABJ 692 BG managed to survive unharmed.

The truck driver and his motor-boy fled the scene of the deadly collision right away, according to a statement signed by Mr. Adebayo Taofiq, the Director of LASTMA’s Public Affairs and Enlightenment Department.
He said, “Preliminary investigations revealed that the driver of Mack articulated 40ft fully-loaded container, while on a high speed, lost control as a result of a brake failure and rammed into a moving Nissan car in motion.
“LASTMA Alabi Olukayode (Zone 2, Ogudu/Alapere) disclosed that the agency handed over the evacuated dead body (woman) to policemen from the Alapere police station.

“LASTMA officials and passers-by, including the LASEMA response unit, were involved in the rescue operations. Other emergency responders at the scene of the fatal accident include the Lagos State Ambulance Service, Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, and the police.
“Also at the accident scene were the LASTMA General Manager, Mr Olalekan Bakare-Oki; LASTMA Director of Traffic Incidents, Event Monitoring, Enforcement and Compliance, Mr Hakeem Adeosun, and the LASTMA rescue team.”

Oki issued a warning to everyone who drives, especially truck drivers, to stay within the speed limit and make sure their cars are well-inspected before leaving the state.
