Bandits attack the Plateau market, killing seven and wounding many more
Following a bandit raid on a market in the Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State on Monday, at least seven deaths were officially reported.
Numerous other people were hurt in the attack, which occurred at Zurak Compani Market on Sunday afternoon.

Abdullahi Hussaini, a community youth leader, verified the occurrence on Monday. He stated that the victims died as a result of the bandits firing on people conducting business at the market, which was bustling around 2:00 pm.
According to Hussaini, “The gunmen rode into the market in large groups, carrying motorcycles.” They began shooting intermittently, quickly killing seven and injuring numerous others.

Alfred Alabo, a spokesman for the state police command, acknowledged the attack but clarified that four people, not seven, had died.

“We are aware of the Zurak Compani incident. Four people died and six injured people are receiving treatment,” Alabo stated. While the investigation is ongoing, we have sent our guys to the location.
According to our source, the Wase LGA, which is more than 200 kilometers from Jos, has already experienced multiple bandit raids and kidnappings. Before the Sunday attack, the town experienced a brief period of calm.
