Arteta is “amazed” by the EPL title race. Arsenal surpasses both Liverpool and City
The fact that Arsenal leads the Premier League title race with ten games remaining is even more impressive, according to manager Mikel Arteta, if Liverpool and Manchester City play each other.
In an exciting chase for the crown, third-place City is only one point behind the Gunners, who are looking to capture their first league trophy in 20 years. The Gunners lead Liverpool on goal difference.

The main winners from last weekend were Arsenal, who defeated Brentford 2-1 in the league after scoring late goals, while City held Liverpool to a 1-1 draw at Anfield.
“It’s great to be top, that’s for sure –- it was an amazing game of football with two magnificent teams, with so many alternatives,” Arteta remarked during the press conference held prior to Tuesday’s Champions League matchup between Porto and his team.
“Considering the caliber of those two teams and the fact that we are still there and at the top, I think it’s incredible that we are even in this situation.

If they want to make it to the final eight, they will need to overcome a 1-0 first-leg deficit on Tuesday at the Emirates.
“Therefore, we want to stay there, and our ambition grows, but we have to play each game carefully.”
In addition, Arsenal hopes to break a protracted European drought by making it to the quarterfinals of the Champions League for the first time since 2010.

“That’s the chance we have tomorrow, in our stadium, in front of our people,” Arteta continued.
“Bring your energy and your noise, and let’s work together for 96 minutes.”

Three weeks ago, Arteta’s men’s performance in Portugal was far less impressive than their current form at home.
Galeno’s goal in the 93rd minute proved to be the difference as Arsenal were unable to even muster an attempt on goal.
However, Arteta is still optimistic that his team can make a difference in London.

“Every opponent has strengths and weaknesses as well as a particular style of play, and we now have a better understanding of them,” Arteta remarked.
“We’ll just focus on being ourselves and do more of the things that we can control better than we did a few weeks ago.”
With a cut foot, Gabriel Martinelli missed the victory over Brentford and is unlikely to be ready for Porto.
