Aregbesola remains APC member, group replies former commissioner
The Omoluabi Progressives, an organization that has the support of former Osun State governor Rauf Aregbesola, said on Friday that the former governor will not be deemed irrelevant within the party.
The organization was responding to the assertion made by Adebayo Adeleke, the immediate former Osun State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, that Aregbesola had left the party.

Former governor Adegboyega Oyetola, who is currently the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, appointed Adeleke as a commissioner in his cabinet.
He delivered a speech on Wednesday at the APC’s Osun Central Senatorial Meeting, which was held in Osogbo, the state capital of Osun.
The APC chieftain stated that all devout party members in Osun State were aware that Aregbesola was not now a member of the party in a video footage of Adeleke’s comments at the event that was acquired on Thursday.

But reacting to Adeleke’s claim in a statement obtained in Osogbo on Friday, the Abosede said, “It will do the Osun progressive family much good if it retraces its steps and embraces a man who left all political offices intact before exiting government in 2018. Ogbeni handed over power to Oyetola, and left behind two APC senators, six Federal House of Representatives members, 23 House of Assembly members, all the 69 Local Government, LCDA & Area offices Chairmen.”
