A lady is detained by Lagos police for poisoning her one-year-old daughter

In the Oworonshoki neighborhood of Lagos State, a lady only known as Rukayat is currently being held by the police on suspicion of poisoning her one-year-old daughter with a pesticide.

Punchng correspondent was informed by a police source that the baby suffered from epilepsy and that her mother had poisoned her because she was tired of the situation.

“One Rukayat came to LUTH for treatment with her one-year-old and seven-month-old kid. She later admitted to poisoning her child with insecticide later that day because she was unable to deal with her daughter’s epilepsy. The insider stated that she expressed a desire to take a break from her stress.

Punchng correspondent was called by Benjamin Hundeyin, the public relations officer for the state police, who verified the occurrence.

He mentioned the mother’s arrest and the continuing investigation.

“Detectives from the division were sent to the hospital right away, where they saw the baby receiving treatment. The mother was taken into custody following the baby’s treatment, and the investigation is still ongoing,” he stated.

The Lagos State Police Command confirmed the death of Lilian Nwarache, a 39-year-old woman who swallowed pesticide in the Iwaya area of Lagos State, last year, PUNCH reported. It was said that she felt irritated by her condition.
