[JUST IN] Strike: UNILAG gate is blocked by SSANU, NASU, and NAATS
On Wednesday, members of the University of Lagos’s National Association of Academic Technologists, the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational Associated Institutions, and the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities peacefully demonstrated in front of the school’s gate.
They impeded the free flow of traffic in the surrounding area and prevented vehicular mobility.

To voice their complaints to the Federal Government over their paychecks being withheld, they performed songs and held a variety of banners.
For approximately a month, the JAC of SSANU and NASU had been drawing the government’s attention to the fact that it was not included in the deferred salary payments that it had started making for the Academic Staff Union of Universities in February.

When the former President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration used the “No Work, No Pay policy” against the ASUU, SSANU, and NAATS, who went on strikes in 2022 that lasted eight months, four months, and five and a half months, respectively, their paychecks were withheld.
But today marked the start of NAATS’s three-day warning strike as well.
Details to follow.
