Palestinian officials reported that during a predawn raid on a refugee camp in the occupied West Bank on Tuesday, Israeli troops killed five Palestinians, including two women.

The leader of the camp’s popular committee, Faisal Salamah, told AFP that the killings occurred during an Israeli military operation on the Tulkarem camp in the northern West Bank. The toll was confirmed by an activist at the camp. The Israeli military refrained from commenting right away.

The Palestinian Red Crescent reported that it had treated three ladies for shrapnel wounds, one of which was near the eye, and a 30-year-old man for wounds to the hand, leg, and belly.

More than 25 military vehicles, including bulldozers, broke into the camp, removing debris to seal off its few lanes, according to the Palestinian official news agency Wafa.

The town of Tulkarem is regularly assaulted by Israeli military and is recognized as a center of Palestinian militant activities.
