Army kills terrorist leader during counter-insurgency operation in Katsina
Reputable terrorist Maikusa, who was reportedly second in command in Katsina State’s terrorist hierarchy under the leadership of another terrorist named Modi Modi, was slain by Nigerian Army troops.
Major General Onyema Nwachukwu, the Director of Army Public Relations, revealed this in a statement on Tuesday.

The statement claims that on Monday, March 4, 2024, during a counterinsurgency operation in the state’s Kurfi and Safana Local Government Areas, the soldiers shot and killed Maikusa along with three other terrorists.
The statement stated, in part, that “troops faced fierce opposition from the violent extremists during the operation, but bravely defeated the terrorists with superior firepower, neutralizing some while others fled in confusion.”
Following the gunfight, the soldiers found two AK-47 weapons, three magazines, 65 rounds of special 7.62 mm ammunition, a gun made locally, and a camouflage clothing.

“Terrorists’ camps in Wurma, Shaiskawa, Yauni, and Dogon Marke villages in Kurfi LGA, as well as Ummadau and Zakka villages in Safana LGA, were destroyed by troops as part of the clearance operations.”

They were identified as Ali Alhaji Alheri, also known as Kachalla Ali Kawaje, Dan Muhammadu, Machika, and Haro.
Machika was reputedly a master bomber for terrorist organizations and the younger brother of infamous terrorist Dogo Gide, while Dan Muhammadu and Haro were experts in assault and kidnapping, respectively.
