Tolu Bankole, a prominent member of the ruling All Progressives Congress, greeted Aremo Olusegun Osoba, the former governor of Ogun State, on his 85th birthday, stating that his model leadership has established a benchmark for government.

Barely a day has passed since President Bola Tinubu hailed the recipient as a distinguished Nigerian who is constantly focused on the country’s unity and progress.

At the public book launch for “My Life in the Public Eye” to commemorate Osoba’s 85th birthday, which took place at the Eko Hotels and Suits on Victoria Island, Lagos, Tinubu made this statement.

The former chairman of the Nigerian Institute of Journalism’s governing board and former editor of the Daily Times, according to Bankole’s statement on Monday, meant more to the individuals he touched.

The national chairman of the APC for People with Disability claims that Osoba has revolutionized state government and continues to be a powerful force in Nigerian politics.

Osoba entered politics in the 1960s after a distinguished career as a writer.

The veteran politician was chosen to serve as Ogun State’s first governor during the Third Republic on the Social Democratic Party’s ticket in 1992–1993.

On November 17, 1993, the late General Sani Abacha’s administration removed him from office. Fortunately, he was lucky enough to be elected again as governor from May 1999 to May 2003, this time on the Alliance for Democracy platform.
