Tuesday’s opening of Europe’s major stock markets saw a decline as investors watched the changes in France and Britain’s political landscapes and anticipated Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell’s testimony.

The FTSE 100 index in London dropped 0.2% to 8,177.71 points.Within the eurozone, the DAX in Frankfurt down 0.5% to 18,379.03 points, and the Paris CAC 40 index fell 0.4% to 7,594.16 points.
