PDP announces schedule for the Ondo governorship election
Ahead of the Ondo State gubernatorial election, the Peoples Democratic Party’s National Working Committee has made public its agenda for events.
The Ondo State gubernatorial election was planned for November 16, 2024, by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

The timetable was put up on a notice board at the PDP’s national offices, Wadata Plaza, in Abuja, on Monday. It was signed by the party’s national organizing secretary, Umar Bature.
The schedule states that the party’s congress, where its nominee for governor would be chosen, will take place on Thursday, April 25, 2024.

The interactive meeting between the National Working Committee and important stakeholders is set for March 5, 2024, according to the event itinerary.
“March 7–March 21 is when the expression of interest, nomination, and Ad hoc forms will be sold. The timeline partially mentioned that the deadline for submitting completed Ad-hoc forms and expressions of interest is March 25.

As stated in the PDP schedule, on March 27, candidates for governorship would be screened at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja. The deadline for submitting the screening reports is March 29.
Additionally, the appeals process for the screening exercise was set for April 2, 2024. The ward Congress appeals are set on April 10, and the ward Congress to elect 3-man Ad-hoc Ward Delegates will take place between April 6 and April 7.

The guideline further states that the Independent National Electoral Commission must receive the name of the governorship candidate by May 20. The deputy governorship candidate will be certified by the party’s NWC on May 9.
The timeline states that June 10 is the deadline for withdrawals and candidate replacements.
