JUST IN: Terrorists in Kaduna kill a soldier and kidnap a stepmother

According to reports, his stepmother was kidnapped at Anguwan Rimi village in Zango Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State, and a soldier known as Yahaya Ayuba (Zabuyia) has purportedly been killed.

Mr. Kantiok Solomon, a family member, confirmed the tragic event to PUNCH Online on Monday.

He claimed that on Sunday night, the soldier arrived from Lagos and that it was during a conversation with his family at the palace that the gunmen broke into the residence.

The stepmother was abducted by bandits brandishing AK-47 rifles last Sunday night at approximately 11 p.m., but the soldier fought.

“Meanwhile, the gunmen notice his uniform hanging on the cushion and resort to gunning him down without hesitation,” Kantiok added.

This is the third time such slaughter has occurred in the village, according to another local, Angelo Tagwai, who also corroborated the occurrence. He said the crime has caused bewilderment in the community.

” We’re calling on the security operatives to immediately swing into action to rescue the stepmother and ensure the perpetrators of this act are arrested and prosecuted.

The Kaduna State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansir Hassan, did not return our correspondent’s calls or texts when reached.
