In Q4 2023, 12.12 million people used electricity, according to NBS
From 11.71 million in the third quarter of 2023 to 12.12 million in the fourth quarter, there was a 410,000 increase in the number of power consumers.
The increase was 3.46 percent, according to the National Bureau of Statistics’ report on electricity for the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2023, which was made public in Abuja on Monday.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, the review is concentrated on the energy bills, income, and clients that DisCos earned throughout the examined time.
According to the data, there were 9.59% more electricity consumers in Q4 2023 than there were in Q4 2022 (11.06 million). This represents an increase in subscribers over the previous year.
According to the report, there were 5.61 million metered consumers in Q4 2023 as opposed to 5.68 million in Q3 2023, a 1.32 percent decline.

“On a year-on-year basis, the figure grew by 9.38 per cent from the 5.13 million reported in Q4 2022,” the NBS stated.
In a similar vein, predicted power customers in Q4 2023 were 5.83 million, down 3.34 percent from Q3 2023’s 6.03 million.
“On a year-on-year basis, estimated customers decreased by 1.73 per cent in Q4 2023 from the 5.93 million recorded in Q4 2022. ”

According to the NBS, income for power distribution businesses increased from N260.16 billion in Q3 2023 to N294.95 billion in Q4 2023.
It further stated that compared to the N232.32 billion collected in the fourth quarter of 2022, revenue collected increased by 26.96% on an annual basis.
According to the report, the amount of electricity supplied increased from 5,732 (Gwh) in the third quarter of 2023 to 6,432 (Gwh) in the fourth quarter.

But according to the data, compared to the 5,611 (Gwh) recorded in Q4 2022, the supply of energy climbed by 14.64 percent year over year in Q4 2023.
