Amadi stated in the letter to the Head of Service that Atang’s service would be extended effective from Wednesday, March 27, 2024, the day he turned 60.

Judge Husseini Baba-Yusuf, the Chief Judge of the FCT High Court, swore in Atang, Permanent Secretaries, the Chairman, and Commissioners of the FCT Civil Service Commission on Monday, March 18. Justice Sylvanus Oriji represented the Chief Judge.

The letter stated that the additional time would allow the newly appointed Head of Service to establish procedures in preparation for the FCT Administration’s restructuring, which is being brought about by the establishment of the FCT-CSC.

“The extension of your service is premised on the need to stabilise and consolidate the ongoing processes to reposition the administrative structure of the FCT Administration occasioned by the recent inauguration of the FCT Civil Service Commission.”
