Goalkeeper Nathaniel Nwosu, captain Daniel Bameyi, midfielder Daniel Daga, and attackers Charles Agada and Olalekan Ibrahim are among the 20 players selected by Flying Eagles head coach Isah Ladan Bosso for the men’s football competition at the 13th African Games in Ghana.
Bosso has also selected Sunday Joseph and Nasir Muhammad as attackers, Favour Izuogu and Ibrahim Idris as midfielders, and Musa Abdullahi and Godwin Sampson as defenders.

In Group B of the men’s football competition, which begins on Thursday, Nigeria will play South Sudan, Senegal, Uganda, and Tunisia. The Nigerian team is expected to leave Abuja on Tuesday. The University of Ghana Sports Stadium in Legon will host the games.
Group A’s teams are Ghana, Congo, Benin Republic, and The Gambia; the Accra Sports Stadium serves as their venue.
In the men’s football competition at the 12th African Games, which took place in Rabat, Morocco in October 2019, Nigeria finished second after losing to Burkina Faso in the final match.

Goalkeeper Faith Omilana, midfielders Olushola Shobowale and Chioma Olise, defenders Shukurat Oladipo and Jumoke Alani, and forwards Blessing Okpe and Judith Okah are also mentioned.
The hosts Ghana will face Ethiopia, Tanzania, and Uganda in Group A, while the defending champions Nigeria are grouped with Morocco, Senegal, and Cameroon in Group B. The games will take place at The Cape Coast Stadium.
