The governor gave the information during an interview on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics program. He said that all of the kidnapped youngsters had been safely retrieved from the criminals’ grasp by the military working with local Zamfara State officials.
He said, “Those numbers were just figments of people’s imaginations.
They just went to the media and reported those figures.

“At that time as a leader, I shouldn’t bother myself about figures and numbers.
“I met with the families of the children, and they confirmed to me that the numbers given by the military are the correct number.
“Today, I am happy. The families are happy, and the state government is happy.”
